So we have a new president. Across the country on Tuesday, there were neighborhood parties that went along with the inauguration ball in DC. I was at the Northside Tavern where they held a “Blue Ball.” Here’s a shot from the event:

This photo was shot with a Zeiss Ikon Nettar. This is a folding camera with bellows that shoots 120 medium format film. The negatives are huge, 6cm x 9cm, and shooting with the camera is really fun.

Unfortunately, at the time this photo was taken, there wasn’t any fog. The photo looks foggy because the lens has fungus growing on it making it look hazy. I tried cleaning it myself, but I’m not handy enough. I’m trying to decide whether it is worth it to pay to get it fixed up.

I know, I KNOW! It’s been almost a month since my last post. Frankly, I haven’t been shooting all that much for work, so I’ve spent my time trying to fix up some old medium format cameras. These shots are from the Ascent, a weird high-end condo building right across the river from Cincinnati. It’s the weird swirling thing on the left side of the first shot.

Here’s a shot from the entrance area: this is what you’d see as you were walking inside. I can’t imagine what those pointy rooms would be like on the inside. Also, keep in mind this building is in Kentucky, you know, the same state that has the Creation Museum.
